Tournament Structure

1. Format: Single-elimination format. Each matchup is a one-on-one game, with the loser eliminated from the tournament.
2. Participants: Open to 20 players.
3. Game Settings:
   • Game Title: NBA 2K25
   • Platform: PlayStation 5
   • Difficulty Level: All-Star
   • Quarter Length: 5 minutes
   • Game Mode: Standard Head-to-Head (Play Now)

4. Seeding: Players will be randomly seeded into the tournament bracket.

Match Rules

1. Game Setup:
   • Games will be set to “All-Star” difficulty level.
   • Quarters will be set to 5 minutes with no accelerated clock.
   • Standard NBA 2K25 rules and gameplay mechanics apply.

2. Teams:

1. • Participants can choose any NBA team available in NBA 2K25.
   • Teams are not locked for the entire tournament, so players can change teams for each round if they choose.
   • Mirror matches (both players choosing the same team) are allowed if both players agree.

3. Controllers:

1. • Standard controllers only. Turbo buttons, macros, or programmable controllers are not permitted.
   • Players may bring their own PS5 controllers or use GameHub JC-provided controllers.

4. Gameplay Rules:

1. • Play Clock: Players must initiate play before the play clock expires. Delays may result in a warning.
   • Timeouts: Each player is allowed the standard number of NBA timeouts per game (6 total, plus one 20-second timeout per half).
   • Overtime: In the event of a tie at the end of regulation, a 2-minute overtime period will be played. Additional overtimes, if needed, will follow the same rules.

5. Pausing and Timeouts:

1. • Players may pause the game a maximum of two times for no more than 30 seconds each to adjust settings or make substitutions.
   • Excessive or prolonged pauses beyond the allowed time may result in a warning or disqualification.
   • If technical issues occur, such as controller disconnection, the game must be paused immediately, and players should alert tournament staff.

Conduct Rules

1. Sportsmanship:
   • Players are expected to exhibit good sportsmanship and respect toward other participants and tournament staff. Any disrespectful or unsportsmanlike behavior may result in disqualification.

2. Cheating and Exploits:

1. • Glitches, cheats, or any form of game manipulation is strictly prohibited. Players caught violating these rules will be immediately disqualified.

3. Disconnections:

1. • Technical Disconnects: If a disconnection occurs, the game will be paused, and tournament staff will assist with resuming the match as closely as possible to the previous state (same score, time, and possession).
   • Intentional Disconnects: Any player found intentionally disconnecting will be immediately disqualified.

4. Spectators:

1. • Only players and tournament staff are permitted in the immediate playing area to avoid distractions. Spectators are welcome in designated areas.

5. Final Decisions:

1. • All tournament official decisions are final, and officials reserve the right to interpret and enforce rules for fairness.

Match Procedures

1. Check-in and Setup:
   • Players are required to check in at least 30 minutes prior to the tournament start time.
   • A brief warm-up period will be allowed for players to get familiar with equipment.

2. Match Start:

1. • Players will finalize team selections and make necessary adjustments before the game begins.

3. End of Match:

1. • Winners must report their score immediately to tournament staff to advance in the bracket.
   • In case of any disputes, tournament officials will review the situation and make a final ruling.

Scoring and Reporting

• Final scores should be reported in “Win/Loss” format by the participants.

Prizes

• Grand Prize: $200 cash for the tournament champion.
